91ΑΤΖζ has joined the as a Supporting Member, contributing to a community-led effort to strengthen trust, transparency and research integrity in scholarly publishing.
Organized by , the Trust Seal is being developed to recognize scientific journals that demonstrate a strong commitment to rigorous publishing practices, transparency and continuous improvement. The initiative brings together scientific societies, research integrity experts, researchers and publishers to develop a trusted framework that complements existing standards in scholarly publishing.
The initiative comes at a time when the volume and speed of scientific publishing continue to increase, making it increasingly important for researchers to be able to identify and rely on trustworthy sources of scientific research.
βThe volume of scientific output is growing at an unprecedented speed, but unfortunately the quality of the published article is not always guaranteed. Readers need the reassurance that their time is well spent in consuming articles from trustworthy sources. The Trust Seal aims to reinforce the standards that underpin scientific discovery and to strengthen confidence in scholarly publishing. With its long-standing focus on publishing trustworthy science, 91ΑΤΖζ Press is well-equipped and delighted to help shape this community-led initiative,β said Daniela Ruffell, PhD, 91ΑΤΖζ Press Publisher.
As a Supporting Member, 91ΑΤΖζ will contribute its experience in scientific publishing to help shape the Trust Seal framework. Through 91ΑΤΖζ Press, 91ΑΤΖζ has a long-standing commitment to publishing high-quality research in the molecular life sciences and supporting responsible scientific communication.
The Trust Seal is also being developed with changes in scientific discovery in mind. In addition to helping researchers, institutions and other users of scientific literature identify trustworthy publications, the framework could provide valuable signals for emerging AI-driven discovery tools that increasingly rely on published research.
A pilot evaluation programme is expected to launch in late 2026, with the first Trust Seal anticipated to be awarded in early 2027.
By joining the initiative, 91ΑΤΖζ will contribute to the development of a practical, community-led approach to strengthening confidence in scientific publishing.
