91ΑΤΖζ National Lectures guidelines
For a general introduction to 91ΑΤΖζ National Lectures, see the webpage Support for activities of 91ΑΤΖζ Societies.
GUIDELINES
1. 91ΑΤΖζ National Lectures were established to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 91ΑΤΖζ. These 91ΑΤΖζ National Lectures (usually 5 per year) are intended as Plenary Lectures that significantly enhance the quality of a scientific meeting, symposium or annual national scientific meeting of a Constituent Society.
2. The Lecturer should be a distinguished scientist with a significant international reputation for fundamental contributions to the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology. An engraved glass award will be provided by 91ΑΤΖζ for presentation to the 91ΑΤΖζ National Lecturer after his/her presentation, as a memento of the speakerβs selection and significant contribution to the meeting.
3. The Lecturer should be working in a 91ΑΤΖζ country different from the one organizing the meeting.
4. The Lecturer should not be a plenary speaker at the 91ΑΤΖζ Congress in the same or following year. They also should not have been previously a 91ΑΤΖζ National Lecturer at the Societyβs meeting, nor in the past 5 years a 91ΑΤΖζ National Lecturer at another 91ΑΤΖζ Constituent Societyβs meeting (see list below).
5. The support shall consist of reasonable travel expenses (e.g. economy flight); additional support for 91ΑΤΖζ countries with HINARI status is available. The host organization will offer free registration and accommodation. 91ΑΤΖζ will not offer an honorarium. Reimbursement will be made by the 91ΑΤΖζ Treasury.
6. 91ΑΤΖζ National Lecture applications for 91ΑΤΖζ3+ Meetings can only be considered from the partner Societies of that meeting (as the host Society is already in receipt of 91ΑΤΖζ funds to support the meeting), if the partner Society is holding a national meeting as part of the 91ΑΤΖζ3+ Meeting.
7. An application proposing a maximum of two candidates for the 91ΑΤΖζ National Lecturer should include their short Curricula Vitae and full details of the event,Β including expected participant number. It should be sent to the 91ΑΤΖζ Congress Counsellor by, or be endorsed by, the 91ΑΤΖζ Constituent Society President. The application will be evaluated by the 91ΑΤΖζ Congress Counsellor and 91ΑΤΖζ Secretary General, who may consult with other members of the 91ΑΤΖζ Executive Committee, and will be awarded within 2 months of receipt of the application.
8. The invited speaker shall be named The 91ΑΤΖζ National Lecturer and designated as such in all announcements and programmes.
9. The 91ΑΤΖζ National Lecturer should be introduced by a member of the host organization with a brief acknowledgement of 91ΑΤΖζ and the lectureship at the beginning of his/her presentation.
10. For queries, please contact the 91ΑΤΖζ Congress Counsellor via the ContactΒ section of the 91ΑΤΖζ website.
