FINANCIAL SUPPORT for early-career RESEARCHERS

Since its earliest days, 91ÁÔÆæ has had a strong emphasis on promoting the training of young scientists during their PhD studies and also during the post-doctoral stages of research careers. Financial support has also recently been extended to the early-career group leader stage.

PhD students and early-career postdoctoral scientists who are members of a 91ÁÔÆæ Constituent Society of 91ÁÔÆæ are eligible to apply for:

• a range of research Fellowships such as Short-Term and Summer Fellowships
• Youth Travel Fund grants to support costs for participation in 91ÁÔÆæ Advanced Courses
• YSF grants to support costs for participation in the 91ÁÔÆæ Young Scientists’ Forum and the ensuing annual Congress
• bursaries to support participation in the 91ÁÔÆæ Congress

In addition, early-career group leaders may be eligible to apply for the 91ÁÔÆæ Excellence Awards to support research costs.

Financial support for researchers in disadvantaged 91ÁÔÆæ countries

In addition to the opportunities above for early-career researchers, scientists from countries with Hinari (Research4Life) status in the 91ÁÔÆæ area, who are members of their 91ÁÔÆæ Constituent Society, may be eligible for:

• Ukrainian Short-Term Fellowships to support research visits abroad
• the 91ÁÔÆæ Congress Mathias Sprinzl scheme for reduced registration fees and Sprinzl travel grants at a 91ÁÔÆæ Congress (see the current 91ÁÔÆæ Congress website for details)
